Screen Print Preparation

In preparation for screen printing we had a workshop on how to prepare an image ready for screen printing. I have worked a lot with screen printing, last year in my final major project in my foundation year I worked a lot with screen printing. I really enjoy this technique as it can create such an effective outcome and I love how you are able to see the printing process rather than all digitally. When screen printing you need to work with a black and white image, in the workshop we chose photos off google image and put them onto photoshop. We turned them into black and white images and adjusted the brightness and contrast as well as using different filters such as the stamp filter and the half tone effect. By adjusting the brightness and contrast it can create more texture in the image and using different effects can manipulate the image to create a more interesting print.
